Transmission

Transmission

I just got accepted into a huge art project called Transmission. Transmission works like the children’s game telephone, a chain of artists passing a message from one to the next, except that each artist passes on the message in a different medium. I just got a picture of a sculpture; I have two weeks to create a piece of flash fiction now. Ekphrastic writing (writing which describes another piece of art) is not always concerned with simply describing a piece of art but deciphering the message it is trying to get across and recreate it.

This whole thing is exciting and terrifying now that I’m in it.

Transmission is run by Satellite Press. If you are interested you can read more about the project here and apply to get involved.
