I took a grant writing class for artists last weekend through RACC. At the end of the class I was asked to fill out a demographic survey about myself and I had identify what kind of artist I was. The options were beginner, emerging, part-time, and full-time. I put down part-time. I also had to pitch a grant in the class and out of nowhere I came up with an idea to put on an event where I would release self-published copies of my essay on the economic recession and have other artists collaborate to make something of an event out of it. Then I realized how much work that would be, moving beyond writing and submitting works for others to publish. I guess this is the year that I earn the title of part-time artist.
I also got this for registering! A name-tag is the first step.
